Ward Identities and chiral anomalies for
coupled fermionic chains
Abstract:
Coupled fermionic chains are usually described in terms of an
effective model in the bonding and anti-bonding variables with linear
dispersion relation. We will derive for the rst time exact chiral Ward
Identities (WI) for this model valid in the limit of removed ultraviolet
and at nite volume, proving the existence of chiral anomalies
verifying the Adler-Bardeen non-renormalization property. Such WI
are expected to play a crucial role in the understanding of the thermodynamic
properties of the system. Our results are non-perturbative
and obtained analyzing Grassmann functional integrals through the
methods of Constructive Quantum Field Theory.
