FM 2-96 Giovanni Gallavotti Extension of Onsager's reciprocity to large fields and the chaotic hypothesis Abstract: The fluctuation theorem, the first consequence of the Chaotic Hypothesis of [GC1], is shown to yield an extension to arbitrary forcing fields of the Onsager reciprocity (OR) (and of the corresponding fluctuation dissipation theorem (FD)) in a wide class of nonequilibrium statistical mechanical systems.
